I agree with you Edith. But in my experience I’ve seen the client can’t really draw out the workflow because you’re only aware of the portion that affects them directly. I come alongside of them as a consultant, for fee, then interview each member of that workflow. Documenting the current state helps them to see what they’re actually doing. Corrections are made, wastes are identified, and I co-author a future state that matches with executive goals.
