At St. John’s Episcopal School in California, students—led by teacher Vickie Walsh—turned remembrance into action with the first annual Lisa Frost Memorial Food Drive in 2024. 💙 Lisa Frost, a beloved alum from the Class of ’93, lost her life on 9/1/011 as a passenger on Flight 175. After visiting the 9/11 Memorial & Museum last summer, Mrs. Walsh was moved by Lisa’s story and her commitment to service, including regular volunteer work at a local food bank. Inspired, the school organized a food drive in her honor. The response was incredible—and made even more meaningful when Lisa’s father joined a school chapel service on September 9 to share her story with students. Thank you to Mrs. Walsh and the entire St. John’s community for showing how remembrance can lead to compassion and impact. This beautiful tribute honors Lisa’s legacy while helping others. ❤️ #911Day #NeverForget #LisaFrost #ServiceMatters #KidsWhoCare #TeachEmpathy

Meet the amazing 4th graders from Hooker Oak School in Chico, CA. 💙 Each year, with the help of their teacher, Beth Geise, they honor 9/11 Day by spreading kindness—writing notes, sweeping porches, even washing cars. Beth has made service central to her classroom, blending 9/11 Day lessons with creative projects that teach empathy and giving back. Next year, this same group—who stay together for 5th grade—will continue building on those values of unity and resilience. Thank you, Beth and students, for showing that no act of kindness is too small. This is what 9/11 Day is all about: turning tragedy into hope. ❤️🇺🇸 #911Day #NeverForget #TeachEmpathy #KidsWhoCare #ServiceMatters

After losing her husband Mike on 9/11, Cindy McGinty looked out her window and saw a neighbor mowing her lawn. For 8 years, Chris Mitchell quietly showed up—just one of many acts of kindness that define who we became in the wake of tragedy. McGinty and Mitchell remind us that 9/11 isn’t just about what we lost—it’s about how we lifted each other up. Let’s carry that spirit forward, every day. #911Day #NeverForget #ActsOfKindness #ServiceMatters #DoGood #HonorThroughAction

In 2016, a handful of our NYC partners asked us to create an opportunity for their teams to give back together. With just a few weeks to plan, we launched our very first 9/11 Day Meal Pack - and it was unforgettable. What started as one special event has grown into a powerful tradition. In 2025, we’ll run Meal Pack projects in 25 cities, packing more than 9 million meals for people in need, with the help of an estimated 30,000 volunteers, from 700+ companies. Of course - this program is just one part of the larger 9/11 Day movement, and impact. Every year, more than 30 million people across the country do good deeds in tribute. Here’s a look back at that first Meal Pack event - where it all began. 💙 Visit 911day.org/meal-packs for more info! #911Day #NeverForget #DayOfService #RememberTheGood #MealPack
