Today marks the 60th anniversary of the California Victim Compensation Board (CalVCB). For the past 60 years, CalVCB has served as the state’s victim compensation program, helping over 1.5 million victims of violent crime on their road to recovery. To date, CalVCB has issued more than $2.7 billion in compensation to people across California. As CalVCB celebrates this milestone, we recognize the ongoing need for victim support and empowerment; and remain dedicated in our work to reduce the impact of crime on victims’ lives and help them restore their lives.
