There’s nothing like bringing the whole team together. Earlier this week, we hosted an internal gathering that brought together employees, interns, and venture partners from across all of our funds and locations - Cambridge, San Francisco, London, and New York. From thoughtful discussions and team-building moments to casual catch-ups and new connections, it was a rare and energizing opportunity to connect across geographies and roles. We’re grateful to work alongside such a talented, mission-driven group-and even more excited about what we’ll build together next. #Teamwork #VentureCapital #LifeSciences #Tech #Interns #GlobalTeam

We create and invest in healthcare and technology companies that impact lives all over the world.
About us
Our roots are in one of America’s great entrepreneurial success stories. Fidelity Investments was founded in 1946 and grew from a single mutual fund into one of the largest asset management firms in the world, with over $2 trillion in assets under management. For the last forty years, our venture capital group has had the privilege of backing other great entrepreneurs as they built ground-breaking companies in technology and life sciences, including Atari, MCI, ROLM Corp., Alibaba, Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, and Ultragenyx. Today our funds are larger and more global, but our teams are still small and local. We stay true to our entrepreneurial roots. In the US and Europe, we are F-Prime Capital investing in healthcare (formerly Fidelity Biosciences) and in technology (formerly part of Devonshire Investors). In other geographies, our sister fund is called Eight Roads (formerly Fidelity Growth Partners), with investment teams in London, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Mumbai. Together we bring a world of insight, domain expertise and relationships to support our entrepreneurs. Without the pressure of fundraising from outside investors, we focus all of our time finding and helping great entrepreneurs build important companies.

Last week, we hosted our annual FBRI Workshop on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders in Kronberg, Germany. The two-day event brought together academic and industry experts from around the world to explore cutting-edge research in neurodegeneration-from genetic risk and biomarkers to novel mechanisms of disease and therapeutic strategies. Led by Stacie Weninger, Ph.D., President of FBRI and Venture Partner at F-Prime, and Matthew Boersma, Ph.D., Associate Director at FBRI, the program featured thoughtful presentations and discussions on Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS/FTD, and related conditions. We’re grateful to our speakers and attendees for contributing to such a collaborative and energizing exchange of ideas-and we’re excited to carry these learnings forward in pursuit of meaningful impact for those affected by neurodegenerative disease. #Alzheimers #Neuroscience #AlzheimersAndBrainAwarenessMonth #EndALZ Alex Pasteur, Ph.D. │ Davina Magargal

Congratulations to Atalanta Therapeutics for naming Joanne Dove Kotz as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors, succeeding Alicia Secor, MBA, who has stepped down. Since their founding, Atalanta has emerged as a leader in the development of RNA interference-based therapies for central nervous system diseases. Being early supporters, we’ve had the honor to support Atalanta through the advancement of multiple investigational therapies toward clinical trials—with potential to make a real impact on devastating neurological diseases. “We thank Alicia for her extraordinary leadership from formation to the cusp of the clinic—and are thrilled to welcome Joanne as she leads Atalanta into its next chapter.” – Dr. Stephen Knight, President and Senior Managing Partner, F-Prime Click the link in the comments to learn more! #AtalantaTX #RNALeaders Stephen Knight, M.D. | Stacie Weninger, Ph.D. | Jessica Alston, Ph.D.

While VCs have turned SaaS investments into a near science over the last decade-plus, many of our assumptions do not hold up for AI investments. F-Prime's Rocio Wu and Eight Roads' Michael Treskow investigated how investors' diligence methods are changing when evaluating AI startups for Forbes. They found ten key changes, and they range from rethinking defensibility to questioning velocity, scrutinizing true gross margins, and understanding why “customer love” doesn’t always mean retention.
