This week, First Harvest volunteers took part in a mock interview event hosted by The Work Group (TWG), a non-profit corporation that seeks to equip at-risk youth with the skills, education, and confidence they need to become self-directed and self-sufficient adults. This event included a panel discussion and Q&A with program enrollees to help them gain work life knowledge and explore possible careers. In addition to First Harvest, other participating organizations from this week's event included United Methodist Homes, I Dare to Care Association, EMR USA, and the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program. #PeopleHelpingPeople #CreditUnionDifference #YouthPrograms

85 years ago today, the organization we now call First Harvest Credit Union was chartered as the IUMSWA Federal Credit Union to serve the employees of the Industrial Union of Marine and Shipbuilding Workers of America in Camden, NJ. To celebrate this milestone anniversary, our leadership team visited with our members at today's Camden Branch location and took a trip down memory lane to our original Camden location from 1940, where the Camden Shipyard & Maritime Museum now sits. From our early beginnings in a small trailer located along South Broadway to today's 47,000+ members across 21 New Jersey counties, we are honored to serve our diverse and resilient communities. As the state’s largest Low Income Designated credit union by membership and South Jersey's largest credit union by assets and membership, we remain committed to our original mission of providing more affordable and inclusive banking services to those we serve.
