There’s nothing natural about waste. In nature, resources are reused and never truly discarded. The same cannot be said of the modern world. Just as humans created the idea of waste, many are now working to deconstruct it – and using what remains to build a circular society. A new wave of innovation is showing how we can change our ways while still enjoying creature comforts. Whether it's turning old juice pouches into tables and chairs, using fungi to break down construction waste, or fashioning textiles from pineapple leaves, each solution is a practical step toward eliminating waste for good. A waste-free world isn't just possible; it's already taking shape. Watch the full film for insights from Jennifer Holmgren from LanzaTech, Cameron Hepburn from Oxford Martin School, Liat Arad from UBQ Materials, Tom Szaky and Ernel Simpson from TerraCycle, Daniel Reyes and Joanne Rodriguez, LEED AP, FitWel Amb, CDT from Mycocycle, Inc., Rony Khan from ECO FRESH AGRO, and Annie Cheung from Celtic Renewables.
