    Leadership Recruitment & Board Appointments

After four years at Wise, employees get the opportunity to take a six-week paid sabbatical. I’ve recently returned from mine—and it was a genuinely valuable experience. It was also a powerful reminder of how to embrace the unexpected. The original plan was a shared adventure with my husband through Indonesia and Borneo. I flew out a week ahead to Bali, but on the day he was meant to join me, he was unable to travel. ✈️ What followed was nearly four weeks of solo time. Not what I’d planned at all, but an experience that turned out to be unexpectedly powerful in its own way. I leaned into the unknown. I focused on rest, movement, sleep, healthy routines, and did my best to be present in the moment rather than waiting for things to “go back to plan.” This time gave me the space to reset—mentally and physically—and I've returned to work with new energy and perspective. 🧘♀️ This whole experience taught me some valuable lessons: to live in the moment, not the plan; to act in ambiguity rather than wait for certainty; and to make something good out of what is, not what should’ve been. And those are precisely the skills we need at Wise as we continue to grow, adapt, and build new things at pace. A massive thank you to my incredible team for holding the fort so brilliantly while I was away. It allowed me to truly switch off and make the most of this unique opportunity. 🙏 In the most poetic bit of timing, on my final day, just hours before flying home, I bumped into a fellow Wiser (Amira Radiah!) in Kuala Lumpur—recognisable, of course, by her Wise tote bag. A small but perfect full-circle moment that reminded me just how special this sabbatical opportunity truly is. ✨ Grateful for the time—and proud to be part of a company that genuinely offers such an incredible benefit. #LifeAtWise #Sabbatical #Leadership #TalentAcquisition #WorkLifeBalance
