- And finally, step 12, review your project. This is the only time that you're going to learn. People think they learn during a project, but really, they don't. For the lessons to be learned, we need to have a proper meeting and get some notes written down of what we've learned. And these are based on three questions. Firstly, what was good that we can repeat next time. That's a chance to thank and praise your team as well, remember. Secondly, what was bad. This is not about blame. It's about learning from our mistakes, writing them down so that other people don't fall for the same things later. And then thirdly, what could have been done better? This is not a wishy-washy mixture of the previous two. It's very important to think, okay, we did quite well. But knowing what we now know with perfect hindsight, what could we have done better for next time? Write all those three things down, good, bad, and better. Keep them in a file for future projects.
