BASF Renewable Energy’s Post

Strong momentum at the Hamburg Offshore Wind Conference 2025! This key industry event brought together global experts to exchange on policy, market frameworks, and project realities. From the panel with our colleague Tobias Stäb, three clear takeaways: 1️⃣ Reducing power import costs like grid fees helps strengthen industrial competitiveness. 2️⃣ To reduce the carbon footprints of their products, industry players rely on PPAs – it’s essential to ensure they remain possible under future auction designs. 3️⃣ Project business cases must be viable – this requires addressing factors such as shadowing effects and building a stable, internationally competitive supply chain. As BASF, we are both shareholders in and off-takers via PPAs from offshore parks. Therefore, offshore wind continues to be a cornerstone of our energy transformation! Thank you to the organizers for a high-impact event! Peter Frohboese, Jan Rispens, Tobias Stäb #EnergyTransition #BASF #HOW2025 Picture sources: 1 & 2: Daniel Reinhardt, 3: BASF
