Exciting news for providers of general-purpose AI (GPAI) models!   Today, the guidelines on the scope of obligations for providers of GPAI models under the AI Act have been published.   Developed through extensive consultation with industry experts and stakeholders, these guidelines aim to provide legal certainty to actors across the AI value chain.   The guidelines detail requirements for transparency, copyright compliance, and systemic risk management for AI models. They focus on four key topics:   🔹 𝗚𝗣𝗔𝗜 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀: When is an AI model considered to be a general-purpose AI model?   🔹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗣𝗔𝗜 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀: When is an actor modifying a general-purpose AI model considered to become a provider?   🔹 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Under what conditions may providers be exempt from certain obligations under the AI Act?   🔹 𝗘𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: What are the implications for providers of general-purpose AI models that choose to adhere to and implement the General-Purpose AI Code of Practice?   For those in the AI space, let's work together to foster an environment of innovation, safety, and transparency in AI development within the EU.   🔗 Discover more about the guidelines here: https://europa.eu/!DyRHnr.
