This third party-assured solution supports cradle-to-gate product carbon footprint (PCF) calculation and reporting to provide independently certified low-carbon products to customers who value them. Featured in our 2024 INtersections Progress Report: we continue to utilize advanced recycling feedstocks and biomass feedstocks to produce offerings with circular and bio-based materials (attributed via mass balance) to help our customers advance their sustainability goals. To support a #circular economy, we must collaborate across the entire materials ecosystem – from waste management to diversifying feedstocks to designing innovative applications. Through collaboration with Dow, our customer Alex Kunststoffe offers flex molded foams for office chairs that are made with circular raw materials and a reduced amount of fossil feedstock. Each kilogram of polyol is produced with 66% of ISCC PLUS certified circular material attributed via mass balance. The Adient Front Seat Cushion prototypes contain 20% recycled polyol from Dow’s RENUVA™ and reduces CO2 emissions and waste for Adient’s seating formulas. This is the first time a closed-loop recycled seat foam content has been successfully used in automotive production.
