In a panel moderated by Nishi Somaiya, global head of Private Banking, Lending, and Deposits at Goldman Sachs, we explored how market challenges can create opportunity through strategic redevelopment and repositioning for infrastructure investments in Chicago and beyond. John S. Gates, Jr., executive chairman and co-founder of TradeLane Properties, LLC; chairman and CEO of PortaeCo, LLC, noted that Chicago’s huge and vibrant mix of infrastructure, alongside the second-largest transportation system in the US, make it a prime location for smart redevelopment strategies. When discussing what comes first in any successful real state strategy, “people and platform are primary, profitable real estate is the optimal goal,” says John. Thank you to all who attended!
