If you come across one of Viasat's large ranging 9 to 24-meters antennas out in their remote locations, you're likely to be impressed by their size. 📡 ➡️ Our 24m antenna reaches 79 ft across and 104 ft high ➡️ They can support missions to the Moon 🌗 ➡️ Comparable in size with the Statue of Liberty 🗽 What's more impressive is their ability to amplify signals from satellites 22,000 miles away. Viasat's large aperture antennas form a vital part of satellite communication networks, connecting users to the internet through a ground network of Earth station and are essential for satellite gateways, supporting high-capacity Ka-band satellites that facilitate crucial government communications. 🔗 Learn more: https://vsat.co/3ItrJbr #AntennaSystems #Ground Stations #GroundSystems #Technology

Day 2 of 𝗩𝗶𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘁: 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 has our finalists working closely with Viasat mentors, refining their concepts for space-based technology solutions that address real-world problems. The mentorship component of our program is crucial – we’ve paired students with industry professionals who can guide them from concept to presentation pitch. These students have approached complex problems with fresh perspectives, unburdened by "that's how we've always done it" thinking. They're designing solutions that could genuinely transform how space serves the world. 🌍 Tomorrow's presentations to our panel of judges will showcase exactly why investing in the next generation is essential for our future. Stay tuned! Thanks to our UK program sponsors Astroscale and Lockheed Martin. #VSFG #SpaceForGood #STEMEducation #SpaceInnovation
