  • 🌱 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲! 🌱 Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting two pioneering startups: Satyukt Analytics and ANKUR +! 🚀 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘆𝘂𝗸𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 Represented by Sat Kumar Tomer and NIROSHA N, they engaged in fruitful discussions with our #LifeHub team and Bayer colleagues, including Dr. S. P. Kamath (Sustainability), Bhanukiran Y (FarmRise), and Sikruti Dash (Direct Acres). Satyukt is leveraging satellite data, advanced technology, and machine learning to provide innovative SaaS solutions.   💧 Our discussions focused on using satellite imagery for hyper-localized irrigation advisories for rice crops in India, helping #𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗗𝗦𝗥) farmers optimize irrigation, potentially reducing water usage by up to 40%, lowering greenhouse gas emissions by up to 45%, and improving soil health.   🌿 𝗔𝗻𝗸𝘂𝗿 + We also welcomed Archan Das from Ankur+. ANKUR+ is striving to transform the agri-inputs industry by leveraging nurseries strategically. Through its tech-driven platform, ANKUR+ empowers nurseries and farmers with innovative solutions for daily farming activities. Our colleague, Shivanand Jammihal Ph.D, discussed marketing challenges and how Ankur's platform can address these bottlenecks. These interactions underscore our commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in agriculture. Together, we can drive sustainable practices that benefit both farmers and the environment! 🌍💚   Anik Luke Dhanaraj Nagabhushana Ithal Sushmitha Chengappa A Janani Abhishek Mudaliar #LifeHubBangalore #InnovationsinAgriculture #DigitalSolutions #Sustainability #BayerDirectAcres

  • ☀️ We’ve reached the halfway point of this year’s 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 (𝗕𝟰𝗨) Germany — and we marked this milestone with a special in-person gathering at #LifeHubMonheim!   This event provided a fantastic platform where our mentees from CEPLAS - Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences and mentors connected face-to-face for engaging discussions on personal development and career advice, featuring extensive conversations in an open forum, in small groups, and also took the opportunity to continue their 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗼𝗻-𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲. While some had already met their mentors in person, for others, this was the first chance to connect directly. We had the pleasure of hearing 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀: 🔬 Daniela Marheineke took us into the world of early-phase pest control, 🧲 Jan Rettig shared insights into his work as an NMR scientist. Both also reflected on their amazing career paths, once more highlighting the diverse opportunities within Bayer | Crop Science 🌍💡 Additionally, Karl D Collins introduced us to the open innovation approach and how we collaborate with startups. 🌿 Another highlight was the biodiversity tour across Monheim Campus — where we discovered that dead wood is actually teeming with life and that a thriving insect ecosystem can help keep mosquitoes at bay. A big thank you to Christian Maus, Christian Baden, and Sascha Eilmus. Mentoring plays a crucial role in professional development. What advice do you wish you had received earlier in your career? 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀! Thank you to Katrin Schullehner for guiding through the day and to Juliane Schmid for bringing these young talents to Monheim. #CEPLAS #B4U #BayerUniversityMentoringProgram

Great to spend time with the team at LifeHub Bangalore last week. Only a few weeks ago, I was at the LifeHub in California, and seeing the work happening here in Bangalore reminded me how powerful these hubs are in shaping the future of agriculture, not just globally, but locally. Here in Bangalore, the focus is on solutions for smallholder farmers - identifying real-world challenges and matching them with innovation through startup support, academic collaboration, and ecosystem development. This kind of work is essential if we want to drive truly sustainable and regenerative ag. Thank you to the team for the warm welcome and inspiring conversations. The work you’re doing here is making a real difference. 👉 Learn more about our global LifeHub network: https://lnkd.in/gQAT3wsc #LifeHubBangalore #InnovationInAg #SustainableFarming #TeamBayer
