I never thought I could be a content creator. Before transitioning to software engineering, I worked for 2 years as a product manager helping doctors, psychologists, and training instructors design online courses. I'd write their landing pages, draft copy to promote their digital courses, and help them turn their expertise into revenue. 💸 But I always felt like they were the "real experts" who deserved to share content. Not me. Then I joined Buffer's Creator Camp last month. It's a 30-day challenge where you commit to posting consistently. Here's what actually happened: My follower count grew 41.6% in one month. 📈 And the best part was seeing everyone's daily posts in the Buffer community. Each post taught me something new about different approaches and formats. Most importantly, I started seeing my own content pillars clearly. ➟ technical skills + product thinking The daily prompts and practice helped me figure out what I wanted to share. I began planning posts on weekends instead of scrambling for ideas. And here's the real shift: I started seeing content opportunities everywhere. ↳ Helping a new teammate get onboarded? That's content. ↳ A tough conversation with my manager? There's a lesson there. ↳ Giving a tech talk for the company? Plenty of insights to unpack. I began seeing my daily work through a different lens. Every challenge, every small win, every "aha" moment became potential value for someone else. 🎉 I'm now celebrating a 5-week posting streak thanks to Buffer. But more than that, I've built a sustainable content workflow. ✨ I don't need to be the "expert" to help someone move forward I just share what I'm learning along the way.

The great companies are the ones that are able to retain a creator and builder mindset, rather than purely being operated and optimized. When you start to extract too much value from a company, by optimizing and streamlining, you tend to shed away the imperfections and uniqueness of a company. This actually sabotages future growth, because you cut off the differentiation the company has, which is a vital ingredient of it's current and future success.

1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣ We're hiring not one but three(!) Senior Engineers to join us at Buffer! Please help us tell that friend who might enjoy working remotely 4 days a week with a small team of humans who cannot wait to welcome them. Or if that sounds like you, maybe you'll just want to keep this a secret. 😉

A small but satisfying win this week: an article I updated for the Buffer blog is now ranking above the AI overviews — for two different search terms. Pretty pleased, to say the least 🙂 Big props to Kirsti Lang for being a wonderful editor! 🔗 in the comments if you'd like to give it a read.

Latest data on content formats just dropped. Millions of posts analysed to find what actually works on every platform. The results will surprise you... Here's what actually works in 2025 according to Buffer: 1️⃣ TikTok: Video still dominates - 18% more views than text - 7% more than carousels - Keep it short, vertical, and entertaining 2️⃣ Instagram: Choose your weapon - Reels get 122% more reach than images - But carousels get 12% more engagement - Reels for growth, carousels for loyalty 3️⃣ LinkedIn: Carousels are king - 278% more engagement than video - 596% more than text posts - Professionals love the swipe-through format 4️⃣ Threads: Images win (barely) - Beat video by 0.6% - Crush text posts by 60% Personally I've found that reposting the same content across these channels doesn't work. For me, TikTok users want entertainment. LinkedIn users want education, value or personal journeys. Instagram users want storytelling. What format works best for you? #socialmedia #contentcreator #marketing #2025trends #digitalmarketing

I LOVE this new feature in Slack. Celebrating tenure and hire-iversaries is such a great little team-building detail. It's especially fun at Buffer, where we have these incredible tenures. Mike San Román, congratulations on 11 years, my friend!
